Morgan Spurlock is a genius!

This guy is so amazing! I cannot believe that he didn't win the Oscar for Super Size Me. For those of you that don't know who he is, he is the man who did the documentary called Super Size Me last year which was so awesome. He is doing a reality show right now on FX called 30 Days and it is a 1 hour show where either him or someone else documents them doing something out of the ordinary for them for 30 days. The first episode showed him and his fiance living off of minimum wage for 30 days. This week it was a guy taking anti-aging drugs for 30 days. Some of the future shows are:
Muslims and America
A Christian agrees to uproot his life among his like-minded family and friends and live for 30 days in a large Muslim community in Dearborn, Michigan. As he befriends his Muslim host family and adopts their customs, he struggles deeply with his bias against a belief system that does not recognize Christ as the son of God and his even stronger prejudice against a religion that is closely associated in many American minds with Osama Bin Laden and the terrorist activity of 9-11.
Straight/Gay
A God fearing 24 year old conservative homophobe from red state America travels so San Francisco's Castro district to live in what is notoriously known as one of the gayest areas in the country. As he joins a gay sports team, works a job that caters to gay clientele, attends gay friendly church services and lives with a gay roommate, he gets an inside view of what it is like to live as a minority that still elicits strong strong feelings of hatred among many Americans.
Binge Drinking Mom
A Mother concerned about her daughter's alcohol consumption now that she is in college agrees to binge drink for 30 days to try to get through to her. In a booze-drenched freaky Friday scenario, the daughter will see her mother drunk, vomiting and hung over as she makes decisions about the tough social choices she faces every day in college. The mother, on the other hand, will become more aware of the enormous social and cultural pressure to drink that faces kids every day of their college careers.

What an awesome show! Finally a documentary that caters to people my age and helps them learn about stuff that is really important. You have to watch this show! It is on FX on Wednesday nights at 10:00PM.

Monica the animal lover.

This week-end we went to my Dad's house for Father's Day and when we got there, a bird had hit the window and was dazed on the ground. My Step-Mom picked it up and asked Monica if she wanted to hold it and of course she did. I would never have the courage to hold this thing especially since I have a sever phobia of birds. So here she is holding the bird:

So then later on in the day we are all sitting down by the lake and Monica says that she sees a snake on the ground and decides to just pick it up. She obviously watches a lot of Animal Planet and knows how to handle it and everything because there is no way that I would do that when I was a kid or now for that matter. It was just a garter snake so it was harmless, but she was really excited to do it. Here is the picture of her holding it:

Batman Begins

WOW! What an awesome movie this was. Matt and I went to see this movie on Saturday night and it was truly one of the best movies I have ever seen. Matt is really into comic books and I am not so much, but I have always loved Batman. Chistian Bale is by far the best Batman ever. I always liked Michael Keaton as Batman, but Chistian is so much better. He truly is "the" Batman. If you haven't seen it already please do because it is awesome. Even if you don't like comic books you will like this movie. It is a little scary at times, but the story is so amazing.

Rude people

Sometimes I can't believe how rude people can be. I have been through a lot in my life and I try to be as positive as possible, but sometimes people just really piss me off. My Dad always taught me to look the other way and just accept people as they are, but sometimes it is so hard. I have tried to eliminate the negative influences in my life to make things more positive. Matt and I see things the same way and I am so happy about that. He is truly my best friend. He and I just try to be who we are and if someone is rude then they don't need to be a part of our lives. I am so lucky to have found a person that feels the way that I do about people. We will always have each other and that is what truly matters.

Michael Jackson...

Ok, so the Michael Jackson trial is over. I feel a little disappointed because I really feel like he is a child molester, but hey what can you do? He is weird and eccentric and I really hate what he has become, BUT... I still love his music! I was listening to the radio today and they played a medley of some of his old songs and I couldn't help but sing along. I watched the Dateline NBC about it tonight and I couldn't help but love all of his old videos. He was such a great performer and had such wonderful music. I feel a little let down by it all, but I still cannot help but think that he was so cool back in the days. I truly don't think of him as the same person that he is now. So go back and listen to those songs and I dare you not to sing and dance along. You know you want to.

What I am into right now...

I went to the dentist and Matt watched reality television!

Well today Matt actually watched a reality show with me. It so cool because he usually hates all reality shows. He decided that there was nothing else on so he would watch with me and he loved it! We watched the new show Hell's Kitchen. He actually liked it too! How cool! I am so excited that he actually likes a reality show that I like. He is usually into super natural shows like Smallville and Stargate SG-1 which I do not watch. It was so funny to see him get all excited and yell at the TV about it. He says that he likes this one because it is different from all the other reality shows, but it really isn't. I am just happy to be able to watch another show with him so we can talk about it together.

I also went to the dentist today. I hadn't gone for 3 years. I know that is bad, but the dentist that I was going to didn't work on Fridays when Matt was home so it was hard for me to go since I have Riley. I broke down and went to Matt's dentist and I must say that it was great! I have been to some really bad dentists so it was hard for me to try someone new. I feel so happy that I have found another that I am comfortable with and that doesn't cause me so much stress and pain.

WOW! What a crazy week-end!

Well, our week-end started out pretty crazy! First off, we want to Toys R Us to get Riley a birthday present and we see Mary Kay Letourneau and her new husband Villi in line in front of us. I was a little shocked at first and when I told Matt, he couldn't stop staring. They were buying over $200.00 worth of toys and having problems with their credit card. I for one, have no problem with them. Yes, I do think it is sick what she did, but she served her time and now I think people need to get over it and move on. It was actually kind of cool to see a semi-celebrity around where we live.

The next day, Monica and I went to my best friend Erin's baby shower which was so fun! I love seeing Erin and all of her family. They always make me reminisce about the good ol' times when we were younger. I have known her since birth so it is so cool to see her pregnant and happy.

On Sunday, we had a birthday party for Riley and everyone showed up. We had a great time. I made most of the food in advance so it wasn't too crazy. Riley was very happy to have all of those people their for him. I still cannot believe that he is 3 already!

All in all, it was a crazy week-end, but a great one as well.
