Our new chair covers...

We are trying to do some semi cheap home improvement projects and one of the things that we decided to start with was re-covering the dining room chairs. They were so filthy from Riley's feet and from spills that I decided to do black. I will also be spraying these ones with Scotch Guard so these ones don't get stained at all too, but I think they are turning out pretty nice.

The silver tooth and a new word

Monica came home from school today telling me that she finally lost her tooth that had a silver crown on it. When she was 3, she had to have a root canal and a crown put on because the dentist didn't want her to go without a tooth there for 6 years. So she finally lost it today and I have decided that this is one tooth that we are keeping. After all, it did cost me over $1,000.00 and that was after the dental insurance. My Step-Dad told me that I should give it to her on her 16th birthday so she can wear it as a pendant. Why not? Even I don't have any necklaces that cost that much.
After we got home from school, Monica and I decided to try again to get Riley to go potty on the toilet. We ended up sitting there with him for 20 minutes and still nothing. We even gave him a glass of water to drink and tried running the sink for the running water trick. Nothing seems to be working. So after getting tired of sitting there I ask Riley to try one more time and he starts grunting and still nothing happens. Then he tells me, "Damn iiiit, it's not working Momma." Monica had to leave the room because she was laughing so hard, but I maintained my composure at least until I got out of his site.

The Chip Truck

Today was a funny day. Riley and I were off to pick up Monica and he sees a Lay's Potato Chip truck. He starts yelling to me, "Momma, Momma, chip truck"! Then he says, "Go that way Momma". After the chip truck of course. He says, "Riley want to eat chips." "Yum. Yum". I couldn't help but crack up. He is a man after my own heart.
